The man’s wife demanded his mistress return a diamond ring he bought for her. The mistress wrote the wife a check for $800 before canceling it. The cheating husband then sued his mistress and told the court that the money he gave her to buy a diamond ring was a loan. The court disagreed and said the ring was a gift and that the mistress was not financially liable.
