Never mind snakes on a plane…how about 200 scorpions?!

It’s so cold in Calgary, Alberta, Canada that the Calgary Zoo is canceling its penguin walks because it is too cold even for the penguins. The highs in Calgary will hover around -30 over the next several days. The area is receiving some of its coldest weather in over a hundred years. So let’s not complain when it hits 20 degrees tonight on the Island! (CTV News)

Fox News says customs agents at an airport in Sri Lanka recently busted a man trying to smuggle 200 venomous scorpions through airport security. The guy was stopped and fined $550 before being allowed to board his flight back to China. The man had the scorpions in plastic bins inside his carry-on bag. He carried them on the plane! Somehow, now, snakes on a plane seems like no big thing.

Spotify can now generate playlists for your pets, with a new tool that claims to customize mixtapes to a critters species and personality traits. The Pet Playlist tool, allows users to choose between dog, cat, iguana, hamster and bird, then tell the platform how energetic or friendly their animal is, to help Spotify pick the playlist vibe. I wonder if they have a playlist for scorpions…or do you just play them THE BAND, the Scorpions?
