Annie Lennox, Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, Steve Winwood & More Up for Induction into Songwriters Hall of Fame

The nominees for induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame have been announced, and they include some of the biggest hitmakers of the seventies and eighties.  Among them:  Steve Winwood; Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac; Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith; Jimmy Buffett; Mick Jones and Lou Gramm of Foreigner and Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics.
In the Non-Performer category, nominees for induction include the songwriters who penned such hits as "Chain of Fools," "Oh Sherrie," "Downtown," "Love Is a Battlefield," "Simply the Best," "Heaven Is a Place on Earth," "White Flag," "Beautiful," "New Kid in Town," "Give Me the Night," "Rock with You" and "Yah Mo B There."
Voting members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame have until December 17 to choose who they think should be inducted and to turn in their ballots.  The 2013 Awards Gala, at which songwriters who receive the most votes will be inducted, will take place June 13.
