Details Announced About New Paul McCartney Recording & Animated Linda McCartney Video

The story has been revealed behind the whimsical animated video depicting Paul McCartney's late wife, Linda, that recently debuted online and is set to a new acoustic rendition of his 1971 tune "Heart of the Country." The McCartney family announced that, as had been rumored, the clip was made for an advertising campaign to promote a new line of vegetarian dishes from the Linda McCartney Foods company.

An official version of the TV commercial, featuring a voiceover from Elvis Costello talking about Linda and the new chilled, meat-free meals, can be viewed now at the Linda McCartney YouTube channel.  Costello is heard saying in the ad, "Linda loved music, Linda loved life and Linda loved food.  She put all that love and energy into creating a range of food that was kinder to animals and the planet."  The new campaign, called #LoveLinda, is slated to premiere on U.K. television on January 28.

The surreal cartoon, which shows Linda and a group of human and animal characters playing music and enjoying a feast in the forest, was produced by Passion Pictures, a respected creative team that previously has worked on projects for The Beatles and Gorillaz.

Meanwhile, some more information has emerged about Sir Paul's new recording of "Heart of the Country" that accompanies the video.  According to Guardian.co.uk, McCartney recorded the track with Mark Ronson, one of the producers with whom he's been collaborating on his upcoming studio album.
