Doors Drummer John Densmore Maps Out Book-Signing Tour to Promote His Forthcoming Memoir

Doors drummer John Densmore is mapping out a book-signing tour to help promote his upcoming memoir, The Doors: Unhinged.  The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is scheduled to make more than a dozen stops across the U.S., including visits to independent record shops as well as book stores.

The trek will launch with an April 20 appearance at Bull Moose Records in Scarborough, Maine, which will be held in conjunction with the next installment of the Record Store Day campaign.

Speaking with MaineToday.com about the book tour, Densmore said he was excited to be making stops at independent record retailers, "because these indies love music!"  He added, "And my new book, The Doors: Unhinged, is about having integrity in regards to music, and these store owners are very passionate about their product."

As previously reported, The Doors: Unhinged tells the story of the drummer's legal battles with his two fellow surviving Doors band mates, keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger.  The book will be released on April 17 through Amazon.com's CreateSpace and Kindle Direct Publishing platforms.
