Yes to Host Inaugural "Yestival" in New Jersey this August

Yes will headline a new progressive rock-themed festival aptly titled Yestival, which will take place August 3 at the Susquehanna Bank Center in the Philadelphia suburb of Camden, New Jersey.  The extravaganza will feature the veteran British rockers playing two of their classic early-1970s albums, The Yes Album and Close to the Edge, as well as other selections from their back catalog.

The all-day event also will feature performances by several other bands, including Carl Palmer's ELP LegacyRenaissance Featuring Anne Haslam, and the acclaimedGenesis tribute group The Music Box.  The artists' performances will be heard through a state-of-the-art quadraphonic sound system.

"This is a concept we've been trying to put into motion for some time, and only now we've been able to turn it into reality," says founding Yes bassist Chris Squire.  "We're looking forward to starting Yestival out in the Philadelphia area, which has been a Yes stronghold since the '70s."

The inaugural Yestival will also feature a second stage that'll showcase emerging acts, including young musicians from the School of Rock.  In addition, there will be an exhibit of the work of famed Yes album-cover artist Roger Dean.

Tickets for the 2013 Yestival will be available for purchase starting this Friday at 10 a.m. ET at Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets, the Susquehanna Bank Center Box Office and Live Nation Box Office, or by phoning 800-745-3000.  Prices start as low as $35.

Yestival will be held near the end of Yes' upcoming North American summer tour, which runs from a July 6 concert in Paso Robles, California, through an August 12 show in Indianapolis.
