McCartney Surprises Queens High School

You have to think that any student that cut class at Frank Sinatra School for the Arts in Astoria yesterday made a BIG mistake.

Paul McCartney and his band took the stage for a surprise performance, in front of 400 high school students, and played a full set of 13 songs, including 3 from his upcoming album New, available next week.

"This beats going to class," McCartney quipped on stage at the school, which was founded by Astoria native Tony Bennett.  Bennett was in attendance, as was McCartney's wife Nancy Shevell, as they celebrated their second anniversary.

The show also took place on what would have been John Lennon's 73rd birthday.

Here is McCartney's set list:

"Eight Days a Week"
"Save Us"
"Lady Madonna"
"We Can Work It Out"
"Everybody Out There"
"Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!"
"Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da"
"Band on the Run"
"Back in the U.S.S.R."
"Hey Jude"
