A dress, worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz, was recently found in a box at Catholic University in Washington DC. It was donated to the school 50 years ago. The box was placed on top of some mail slots before being left there for years. It was recently found. Trying to get the ruby red slippers to go with that dress will require you to steal them from the Smithsonian.
37-year-old Nina Farooqi is a huge soccer fan and when her friend won tickets to go see England and Denmark play, she decided to call in sick to work. When England won the game, she was so excited! So much so, that she was captured on TV, celebrating. Her image was also picked up by media around the world. As she headed into work the next day, she got a call from her boss, who saw her on TV and fired her. BUT, Nina says that although she’s bummed about losing her job, she would do it all over again. Last Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup. To commemorate the victory, Coors Light is brewing beer made with the actual ice those guys were skating on during Game 5 — and will call the special brew “Coors Light Champions Ice.” They’re actually going to transport ice scraped from Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida, to the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado.
